The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) review of screen time harms found evidence of links between increased use and sleep disruption, obesity and mental health issues like anxiety and loneliness.
According to the report this does not appear to be due to anything inherently harmful about screen use, but more a result of screen use “displacing positive behaviours”.
A link to the report can be found below and as a school we would encourage parents to consider the following questions.
Is there child's screen use controlled?
Does it interfere with other activities such as social interaction, mealtimes, exercise or sleep?
Can you control 'snacking' during screentime?
