Selston student Jessica Steele has, after a gruelling set of interviews, started her role as a national digital champion. Working as a team, with the other digital champions from across the country, they have discussed current e-safety problems facing young people . “I think it is incredibly important to be a Digital Leader as I represent and support the students in our school, as a Digital champion I can help young people across the country”, says Jessica. Following her excellent work an offer was made for her to be involved in the international safer internet forum in Brussels. This is an opportunity that she has relished, stating that “it was an amazing experience, not only because of the conference itself, but because of the amazing people I met from all over Europe and the chance for us all to work together so that young people feel safe and respected online.”.
