Pledge Award

At Selston High School we believe that it takes more than qualifications to make a young person a good citizen, with a sense of personal well-being and moral purpose.

Our school motto is "Inspire Success" and this covers all areas of life:  academic, social, cultural, sporting and creative. We want to develop the potential of each individual and to prepare students to learn, grow and thrive in the 21st century. We also want all students to be leaders and to give students opportunities to pursue their own interests.

The Selston Pledge Award is designed to promote the development of well-rounded individuals and to recognise the significant achievements of all our students. It will also be a useful tool when competing for college and university places, jobs and other opportunities.

The Selston Pledge Award will allow students to be recognised for achievements in 6 different categories:

Vocational

To complete an award at any level students must achieve credits in all 6 areas, however students can achieve up to half the credits for any given award in 1 area.

The Selston Pledge Award can be achieved at 4 different levels: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Each level will take approximately a year to achieve but is flexible to allow some students to take more or less time.

If you need helping thinking of how to gain credits towards your pledge award please follow the links above.

The lists are only suggestions - you do not have to do the things on them and there are plenty of activities you can do that aren't on the list. If you are doing something new and different please e mail Ms Gordon so it can be added to the lists.
